In 2003, the first conference of Women Coffee Producers was held in Peru. Their objective was to raise social standing and promote leadership of Peruvian women. Their goal was to establish the first fair trade coffee produced by women only. Today, over 700 women coffee farmers are involved with the project and participate in all areas of production. This unique coffee is medium-bodied with a light acidity, sweet aroma, and hints of chocolate that are intensified by a slow, dark roast.
