Papua New Guinea Madan Plantation

Madan Plantation is one of the few privately owned (as opposed to tribally owned) coffee farms in the western highlands of Papua New Guinea. Once famed as a highly respected and successful farm, it fell into disuse after a series of misfortunate events and changed ownership. In 2003, a Mongai tribesman bought the plantation and has worked hard to reinstate it as one of the most treasured coffees to come from this country. Madan Plantation has a pronounced acidity and earthy, full-bodied flavor. A medium to dark roast is generally favored for achieving this coffee's peak complexity.
